[1.- 15. FEB 2025] [ARS BIOARCTICA]

Is it possible to summarise two weeks of daily outdoor movement practice, always when earth turns into the light of sun and again when it turns into the shadow of night? No, not really. What we do know, is that we had an incredibly beautiful time surrounded by the magical environment of Lake Kilpisjärvi and the beautiful people of the Biological Research Station in Kilpisjärvi.

We return filled with winter and ice and spaciousness and fells and conversations on family histories, regional histories, climate change, ice ages, archives, bodies and possible futures.

Now sorting through photos and writings to publish a zine in response to our residency time. Letting all that was percolate into what is now and what will come.

The artist residency ARS BIOARCTICA is organised and accompanied by the fabulous Bioart Society based Helsinki. Our project has received funding from the Finnish Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation as well as Culture Moves Europe, both of which do great work with and for artist and scientist – THANK YOU!
